The Association of State Employees in Management (ASEM) is an official limited recognition organization (LRO) for State of Michigan non-exclusively represented classified government employees. ASEM is a voluntary organization dedicated to the interests of career professionals and retirees in state government.

ASEM’s purpose is to maintain the highest standards of performance in state government, through preservation of the merit system. Members are encouraged to express their views, to identify issues of concern, to participate on committees, and to seek election as officers or board members.
